Yesterday my sister went to the Dead People's Things For Sale Vintage Market presented by Bats magazine and bought this fantastic top. I don't usually post such things but I think the black and white design as well as the lace collar is quite similar to some of the drawings I've been doing lately. I also just kind of really really like it. I think it's the intricate and delicate nature of it that I like. I suppose the back of the collar is also circular to fit in with my current theme.

Considering latest mid lecture doodles and experimentation with wool and canvases I think it's fairly obvious where my work this semester will be going...

This is simply one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. This is a video of the residents of Poznań, Poland celebrating the Summer solstice by releasing 8000 floating lanterns. They broke the record for number of floating lanterns!

Dario Tironi is an Italian artist who lives and works in Bergamo. He generally works with a lot of found objects, often with a focus on the use of modern technology. He also often adds bright colours to his work. I love these pieces because they are able to be instantly related to from a purely aesthetic point of view however their meaning can be pondered forevermore.

I think this semester I will attempt to use sculpture more in my work as most of my pieces to date have been two dimensional. I also think when doing this I'd like to make use of found objects.
